Conquering Curves

Join Jo Anne Powell to master curves for a fun, freeing, creative adventure with a traditional OR modern twist.  Elements of design will be explored, surprisingly simple techniques will be demonstrated and tips will be provided for you to design and make your own unique quilt.

SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT:
  1. Find (or make) a couple of any-sized orphan blocks, in solids, if possible - we’ll use the one which will work the best. OR bring a piece of fabric with a large, fabulous motif OR plan to use a piece of black fabric for a striking silhouette.
  2. Bring your own or shop the store for solids, ombres, or subtle prints and cut a dozen or more different 5” squares OR a dozen 2 1/2” or wider strips.
  3. 9”x12” (or so) piece of fusible.
  4. 1/2 yard of a solid to coordinate (or white), a yard of batting and a yard of backing.
  5. Small (6”?) square ruler (if you cut squares) and a 5x24” ruler or similar.
  6. Rotary cutter & mat.
  7. Sewing machine with cords and a walking foot.
  8. Matching or neutral threads with filled bobbins.
