Heart Shaped Rope Bowl Class - Sarasota

In this class, you’ll create a heart-shaped rope bowl and explore how small adjustments can dramatically change the final form. You may begin with a small shaping piece or trivet, or move directly into a larger bowl, with the option to incorporate wrapped rope segments and decorative stitching for added visual interest and personal style. We’ll also touch on a few simple finishing ideas, such as knots. The heart shape makes this a natural Valentine’s Day project, while color choices easily adapt it for any time of year.
This is for Advanced-Beginner.
Pre-Requisite: Into to Rope Sewing Beginner class, or prior experience sewing rope projects. Students should be comfortable sewing basic rope bowls.
Requirements: Sewing machine capable of zigzag stitch (additional requirements on supply list)
Take Home Project: A heart-shaped rope bowl approximately 8–10 inches wide and 2–3 inches high. Students may also choose to make a smaller trinket bowl or trivet, either as a starter or as a finishing piece, or 2nd bowl, depending on time and comfort level. Final project size and shape are flexible and may vary from the sample shown.
