How to Add Fabric to Rope Bowl - Naples

Take your rope sewing to the next level as you create a round rope bowl or basket featuring a fabric or fabric-backed cork base (approximately 7-9" wide x 2" high). In this hands-on class, you’ll continue to build on the skills learned in the beginner class–learning how to prepare and attach a fabric or cork center to your rope basket base so it lies smooth and secure, shape even sidewalls, and achieve a more refined finish on your basket. You’ll also explore new design details such as longer wrapped rope segments or adding a simple handle and bead accents. I’ll share optional ideas and suggestions for designing your base to make each basket uniquely your own. Students who finish early may continue working in the same style, creating an additional small bowl or basket using similar techniques. You’ll take home a completed project and the confidence to continue creating more rope baskets on your own.
This class is for those who have completed the Intro to Rope Sewing Beginner class or who have previous hands-on experience sewing rope projects. While we may briefly review key concepts, foundational basics are not covered in this session.
