Patchwork Rope Bowl with Quilted Base and Rolled Rim - Sarasota - April 16
Join Lisa Curt in Sarasota on Thursday, April 16 from 10:30 - 4:00
Take your rope bowls a step further by combining rope sewing with patchwork surface design. In this class, you’ll build a structured rope bowl with small fabric sections integrated into the outer walls and a quilt-block detail in the base.
The focus is on how fabric placement, tension, and control influence the shape and finish of the bowl. You’ll complete the project by creating a rolled rim through tension adjustments, resulting in a clean, intentional finish and a deeper understanding of surface design in rope sewing..
You Will Learn How To:
• Build a rope bowl with integrated fabric patchwork and a quilt-block base detail
• Use tension and stitch control to shape and refine the bowl
• Create a rolled rim finish by adjusting tension as you sew
Take Home Project: One rope bowl featuring integrated fabric patchwork and a quilt block detail, approximately 8 inches wide x 4-5 inches high. Final size and shape will vary based on individual shaping and technique.
