
Rope Bowl Retreat
June 11th & 12th with Karen Donley
Day 1:
Morning: Intro to rope bowl making and create a small beginner bowl. Creating a rope bowl using fabric strips to cover the rope.
Afternoon: Creating an Oval Rope Bowl - creating a rope bowl putting fabric on the bottom of th ebowl. This bowl will include instructions on making handles on the bowl.
Day 2:
Morning: Creating the Parkway Bowl using natural & one color bundle of rope (10 yards of each required)
Afternoon: Creating a rope bowl with the shape or size of your choice. Karen will give instructions on using decorative stitches. You may use fabric to wrap your bowl, different techniques to finish the bowl. You may also make coasters and a bowl to held them.
During day #2, in the afternoon session, you should be able to create 2 to 3 projects.
*You, each student, will have learned the basics of rope bowl making, using two colors of rope to create the MTC Parkway Bowl, wrapping rope, round and oval shaped bowls, using decorative stitches and different techniques to end your bowl. You should go home with about 7 to 8 finshed projects in total!
