How to Die Cut Critter Shapes

For fusible appliqué, apply fusible web to the wrong side of the fabric, following the manufacturer's instructions, before cutting.

• Dragonfly: Cut and fuse 4½" × 5⅜" rectangles. Cut seven dragonflies across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 56 dragonflies.
• Bee: Cut and fuse 4½" × 5¼" rectangles. Cut seven bees across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 56 bees.
• Butterfly: Cut and fuse 4½" × 5⅜" rectangles. Cut seven butterflies across the width of fabric. One yard of 40" wide fabric cuts 56 butterflies.

Die Tips

• With some fabrics, a thread or two may remain where die blades meet – simply snip with scissors.
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to the edge of the shape, not the edge of the die board.
• Use good quality fabric to reduce stretch.
• Always test cut one shape before cutting many to confirm fabric orientation.
• Clean lint and threads with an adhesive roller or die pick. Blades never need sharpening.
