Florida Sunshine Rope Bowl Class - Sarasota - 2

This advanced (or confident intermediate) level class focuses creating a bold sunburst design using a simple weaving-style technique, where fabric is layered into the rope as you sew. You’ll start with a wrapped center and build the pattern outward, watching the design form as the bowl grows. We’ll focus on even spacing, consistent placement, and smooth stitching so the pattern stays balanced all the way around. A simple fabric flower detail will also be included as an optional finishing accent.
You Will Learn How To:
• Place fabric into the rope to create a sunburst pattern
• Keep your spacing even as the bowl grows
• Manage fabric for smooth stitching and control
Take Home Project: One rope bowl with sunburst design, approximately 7-10 inches wide x 2-3 inches high. Final size and shape will vary based on individual shaping and technique.
Pre-Requisite: This is not a beginner class. Intro to Rope Sewing Beginner Class or equivalent experience with rope sewing, including:
• forming a flat base and shaping sidewalls
• maintaining consistent zigzag stitching
• managing rope and fabric at the machine
Requirements: Sewing machine capable of a zigzag stitch; presser foot suitable for zigzag stitching; extension table for your machine. Additional materials listed on the supply list.
